“The beat jamming sensation that started the music game craze comes to the PSP system in its most complete form ever,” says PM Studios about DJ Max Fever, the latest PSP music game.
DJ Max Fever uses Black Square game engine and the interface is based on DJ Max Portable 2.
In DJ Max Fever, you pick a song from more than 100 songs and then head off into the game. While you press buttons that correspond to blocks falling on the screen, an animated video (often anime) plays in the background.
Sometimes your bricks are drum beats, sometimes they’re piano keys, and sometimes it’s just electronic sounds. So, contrary to games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero that limit a person’s musical ability to a specific instrument, in DJ Max Fever you tap buttons in response to all kinds of beats.
In addition to Fever exclusive music tracks (like Hip Hop Rescue), the game also includes a track list which combines tunes from DJ Max Portable 1 and 2.
The game features five difficulty levels, Freestyle Mode (enabled by performing a perfect mix), Network Battle Mode, and goal-based contests called Extreme challenges.
You could also make song lists in OST so that you can just play your DJ Max songs on your PSP like your favorite MP3 player.
So, if you are a person who enjoys this kind of rhythm-based gameplay, along with a Korean theme, this game is going to be a blast for you!
DJ Max Fever is developed by South Korean developer Pentavision and published by American publisher PM Studios. This PSP game was released on Jan 27, 2009.
