According to a listing from PEGI, which classifies all European video games, a new game related to the adventures of Indiana Jones is headed to PSP and Nintendo DS.
This new PSP game is listed as Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings (or Indiana Jones 2008), and will be published by Activision.
Two years ago Lucas Arts, the license holder for Indiana Jones games, first announced that it was working on a next generation Indiana Jones, but has since gone quiet.
It’s been said that Indiana Jones took a back seat to Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, another game made by Lucas Arts, which will be released for PSP and all other major platforms next month. Development of this new Star Wars game began earlier this year and is expected to be released in 2009, suggests Eurogamer, but the official Indiana Jones website says its release on Xbox 360 and PS3 is “to be determined.”
No further details about Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings are known at this time, but the rating offers up a few indicators on what PSP gamers can expect. The title has been designed for teen audiences and above, having received a 16+ classification as well as a violence descriptor.
A Lego Indiana Jones title was recently announced, but as mentioned above, the Teen rating given to the new non-Lego title suggests a more mature – and therefore different – PSP game.
Indiana Jones release date is also ‘to be determined,’ according to the game’s official website.
