The Sony PSP 4.05 firmware update will be coming in the very near future and will include features that will be especially welcome to those who use their PSP for listening to music.
“I wanted to give a quick heads up to everyone that a new PSP firmware update, v4.05, will be released soon. We know that more and more of you are listening to music on your PSP, and this update will add new visualizers for music playback, among other features,” said Eric Lempel, Director of PlayStation Network Operations, on the official PlayStation blog.
Many PSP gamers got excited when they said “among other features”, while there’s no word on what those “other” features might be, some gamers are hoping for one of the features that the PS3 received in the last update.
PSP fans on Sony’s message boards are already calling for in-game access to the cross media bar (XMB) menus, just like the PS3, as well as updated flash plug-ins for the console’s web browser, and an improved internet radio.
While you cannot change every setting with XMB while playing a game, but you still get quick one click access to other options without having to leave the game and then select them.
The Sony PSP and PS3 have always been closely linked, so it seems natural that the PSP will get this feature soon and most likely in this next 4.05 update.
What other features would you like to see in PSP firmware 4.05? We would like improved Internet radio and the flash plug-ins for the web browser updated.
It’s been almost three whole weeks since Sony released the PSP firmware 4.01 on June 25th.
We will let you know when PSP 4.05 Firmware has been released.
