Speaking to MTV at E3 last week, Sony’s senior marketing manager for the PSP, John Kohler confirmed that the company plans to make PSP games designed to take advantage of GPS add-on.
“That’s [GPS] going to be a big one for us. It changes the dynamics of GPS but also changes the way developers think about games on PSP because you can start integrating GPS into it,” He said, sounding enthusiastic about the prospect.
PSP owners in the US will be able to enjoy PSP’s GPS navigation early next year, while Go! Explore, the GPS attachment for PSP, is scheduled for release in the UK this week.
“Yeah, we’ll probably lead the way on that,” Kohler said when asked whether Sony would release a PSP game for the GPS add-on early 2009.
He wouldn’t give more details, though.
“There’s been a number of things that our first-party worldwide studios have looked at, and they’ve been trying to look at different options,” he added.
