Valkyria Chronicles, a tactical RPG game produced by Sega, became one of the best games released for PS3 in 2008. Repeating that effort on the PSP, Sega has announced that is has plans to release Valkyria Chronicles 2 for PSP in the summer of 2010.
Sure it’s a surprise to those who are really looking forward to another title in the series. Especially since it’s a PSP only game, it will be a great joy for both RPG fans and PSP gamers. And it will be a great game since it’s developed by the same team behind the PS3 game.
The story of Valkyria Chronicles 2 will begin two years after the events of the original game, which featured Gallia, a fictional country that was stuck between two superpowers in war. In the sequel, a group of cadets from the Gallian Military Academy are involved in a civil war to suppress a rebellion by the Gallian Revolutionary Army on the current government.
Valkyria Chronicles 2 uses the same - but scaled down - engine that powered the original Valkyria game. You will be able to use both turn-based strategy and real-time movement on a series of smaller battlefields.
The game is going to be released this January in Japan.
